Professor Abdelkhalak EL HAMI

INSA Rouen, France

Title: Reliability of Complex Mechatronics Systems.

Abdelkhalak El Hami is a Full professor  at INSA Rouen, he got his Phd from the University of Franche Comté in France (1992) and his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) diploma in 2000. He has been Professor at INSA Rouen since September 2000. Prof. El Hami is currently Deputy Director of the Normandy Mechanical Laboratory and Head of the chair of mechanics at the Conservatoire Nationale des Arts et Métiers in Normandy. He was Director of the training of mechanical engineers at INSA Rouen.

His research activities concern reliability optimization systems. The preferred applications are related to mechanical and mechatronic systems. He leads and leads a research team within the laboratory. He supervised 52 theses (including 31 in co-supervision: Morocco, China, Norway, Sweden, Brazil, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon.) He has published more than 520 articles, including 100 Sci Journals. He has written more than 85 books in the fields of mechanics, mathematics and reliability of multiphysics systems.

Prof. El HAMI has carried out several projects in the form of industrial contracts (PSA, Thales, EADS, Airbus, Alstom, Renault, Alstom Transport, Dassault, Knoor Bremse, Thales, Valeo, ...). The value of these contracts is around 40 million euros. He is responsible for three Integrated Actions with Morocco, PHC Volubilis/Toubkal, and an Alban with Brazil and member and correspondent in Normandy.

He is management and quality controller of the European project TEMPUS MEDA I-crea on Innovation and Responsiveness. He is responsible for several European educational projects. he has spent an average of 4 years abroad as a guest teacher, expertise, conferences (Brazil, Morocco, USA, Australia, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Romania, Algeria, Europe ...). He is also editor-in-chief of 5 book series Elsevier, Wiley & Son, ISTE, Expert and member of committees with ANR, BPI, PHC Utique and Maghreb and European Project auditor.

Professor Weihong ZHANG

Professor Weihong Zhang, Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences is currently working as Professor, Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Manufacturing Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), China. Prof. Zhang is graduated (Bachelor ) from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 1984 and (Master and Ph.D) from LTAS-Aerospace Laboratory, University of Liege, Belgium. He started his carrier as associate Professor in France at mechanica department at the Université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard till 1999 before joining later NWPU in 2000 as Full professor.  He's main research focus on: Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Advanced Structures and Materials, Computational Mechanics of Solids and Structures, Computational Mechanics and simulation of Manufacturing Process. Prof. Zhang has published over 400 Papers in International Journals and Conferences and was invited more than 40 time as keynote lecture in international conferences.

Professor Piotr Breitkopf

Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), France

Title: Model - Order  reduction for machine learning in computation mechanics 

Piotr Breitkopf is the head of the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization team at Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), France. His research fields involve: computational mechanics, reduced order modeling, design optimization and high performance computing. He has obtained his PhD from Polish Academy of Sciences in 1988, and habilitation (HDR) from UTC in 1998. Since 2010 he is Deputy Director of Roberval Laboratory, a joint CNRS-UTC research unit. He is member of the steering committee of Labex MS2T. In 2014 he was nominated Oversea Expert of the Center for Foreign Talents Introduction and Academic Exchange of Mechanical Behavior of Advanced Structures and Materials at NPU. Together with Professor Zhang Weihong he presides the joint French-Chinese research group "Virtual Prototyping and Design". He serves at various editorial boards, scientific councils and scientific associations. He has authored and co-authored more than 200 peer reviewed journal papers, book chapters and referenced conference papers.

Dr. Mathieu Balesdent

Director of Research

ONERA ( French Aerospace Lab)

Title: Quality-Diversity approaches for constrained design optimization problems

​Dr. Mathieu Balesdent is currently working as a specialist in Multidisciplinary Design Optimization at ONERA – The French Aerospace Lab. He defended his PhD thesis in 2011 and his Habilitation Degree in 2021. He is currently Director of Research at ONERA and is in charge of the scientific topics dealing with systems design and optimization. His research activities include multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization, uncertainty quantification and aerospace vehicle design. He has published more than 40 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and he has also written two books dedicated to uncertainty quantification for the design of complex systems and aerospace vehicles. He is a regular lecturer in different French universities such as “Ecole Polytechnique” or “ISAE – Supaero”.
